Introduction

Richard Mullane is a built environment professional with over 10 years of experience.

From 2000 to 2008 he helped establish Design for Homes, a UK organisation which aims to improve the quality of the built environment through education, training, awards and planning policy. Richard has delivered urban design training, awards ceremonies, international tours, published research and national conferences. He remains a Design for Homes director.

He has an MSc in Urban Design, Sustainability and Regeneration from the Bartlett School of Planning, where he studied under Peter Hall and Ian Borden

He is a qualified Building for Life assessor actively involved in pre and post planning assessment for large mixed use developments in the UK. He ran the Building for Life awards assessment process from 2005-2008.

As well as making films about the built environment, featured within this website, Richard teaches a planning and film making unit for the Bartlett European Property Development and Regeneration students.

He has organised and led professional educational tours across Europe for built environment developers, planners, architects and government officers.

He is an board advisor to the Sherwood Institute, a global collaboration focussed on finding solutions to the world's water, energy and infrastructure challenges.
